AIDS Day Awareness Drives Organized Across India

Schools and Colleges Lead Campaigns on HIV Prevention

On the occasion of World AIDS Day, educational institutions across various cities in India actively participated in spreading awareness about HIV/AIDS. Schools and colleges organized rallies on main roads, displaying informative posters, placards, red ribbon symbols, and impactful slogans to highlight the importance of prevention and safe practices.

Students, accompanied by faculty and NSS volunteers, marched through busy streets to educate communities about the risks, modes of transmission, and the need to eliminate stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV. Awareness pamphlets were distributed, and brief sessions were conducted to encourage regular health check-ups and promote responsible behavior.

Teachers emphasized that youth awareness plays a crucial role in achieving the national goal of eliminating HIV/AIDS as a public health threat. Many institutions also conducted essay writing, speech competitions, and special assemblies to promote knowledge on this global health concern.

World AIDS Day, observed every year on December 1, serves as a reminder to unite in the fight against HIV, show support to those affected, and remember those who lost their lives to the disease. India continues to strengthen preventive measures and awareness through such impactful educational initiatives.
